There is new spate of anti-China diatribes from the usual Amboy (American boys) sources. First came Andrew Marasigan’s hilarious “Are China’s glory days coming to an end?” in Manny Pangilinan’s Business World. Then came the Inquirer’s “China taking positions to deny PH access to key WPS areas.” Its FB-posted report said that “American geologists looking for oil… into the Recto Reef at the West Philippine Seas and the Liguasan Marsh in Central Mindanao… escorted by soldiers of the AFP under the… VFA.”
Andrew Marasigan argument – that China’s fall from the heights of achievement is overdue to a declining population and a growing graying generation- is a standard Western spiel these days. I have never worried about this as China’s socialist planning government anticipates future challenges way, way ahead of anything what the West can think of. Aside from the Chinese government’s already-announced suspension of the One-Child policy, it has also provided incentives for more children.
Aside from that basic adjustment of China’s demographic policy, I have personally observed that today’s seniors are as productive as the 40-year-olds of past decades. My evidence is myself, equipped as I am with all the newest tools – from smartphones to remote-computer-access apps, navigation devices in cars to internet information convenience, work-from-home to online shopping reducing the need for travel etc. And in China in particular, the mounting use of robots is making seniors’ lives extremely productive.
Motorized wheel chairs, ergonomic adjusting beds, special seats that can move immobilized elderlies automatically from bed to chairs to toilets, etc. are already in the works. In the industrial field, China has the highest rate of robotization of the production lines, while 5G going on to 6G is making driverless vehicles a real-world convenience. All the advancement in technology is reducing the need for the young manual work force to care for the aged.
The like of Andres Marasigan are just mouthpieces of Western anti-Asian, anti-China propaganda to demean every advance of this leading Asian nation ushering in the Asian Moment and expanding it to become the Asian Century. That he writes in Business World is no surprise as its publisher, Manny Pangilinan, is the chief financial agent of the US-linked Salim group and overlord of all Amboy economic and political operations in the Philippines.
The Inquirer report alleging Chinese fishing vessels taking positions to block Philippine marine vessels at the South China Sea areas claimed by the Philippines is a lot of hogwash. Just like the Scarborough Shoals, the entire South China Sea has been the traditional fishing grounds of all littoral nations around it for thousands of years past. Even the arbitrary arbitration panel convened by the Philippines affirmed the South China Sea as traditional fishing grounds.
I recall the narratives I have long written about, published and retold again and again to international and domestic media about how Filipino, Vietnamese and Chinese fishermen in Scarborough Shoal share the waters and, when typhoons come, huddle together around warm fires and share booze and food while sheltering from rough weather and seas. This is why these three sensible countries talk about dialogue and negotiations, not stoking conflict as the Inquirer and Amboys do.
The main star of the Inquirer tension-triggering story is Atty. Jay Batongbacal, maritime lawyer who gets a lot of funds from the US-linked sources. While his website, once featuring the American Eagle at its masthead apparently to symbolize resistance to U.S. imperialism, this has changed over the decade to one of extreme loyalty to the US imperialist geopolitical strategy in the region. He now mouths the US line against alleged Chinese incursions into Philippine “territory”, which is an absolute disinformation.
Batongbacal and his Amboy company anchor all their arguments on the Arbitration Panel’s 2016 “award.” While this has actually never been recognized by the U.N., their incessant claim is that it is “UN-backed.” I have repeatedly reproduced what UN Spokesman Stefan Dujarric said n 2016, “The UN doesn’t have a position on the legal and procedural merits” of the South China Sea arbitration case. All claims from that empty exercise are nothing but propaganda and hot air.
Batongbacal et. Al., and their paymaster US, are hoping that the hot air someday becomes “hot wars” with China. This is the US campaign to contain China, and Asia, in its peaceful rise to attain its rightful place in Human history. How can Batongbacal argue that the Chinese fishing vessels are positioning to block Philippines vessels in the channels claimed by the Philippines when other countries’ fishing vessels – by the thousands – are also positioned in the same areas?.
In November 2022, the SCSPI (South China Sea Probing Initiative satellite surveillance) followed 6,790 Vietnamese fishing vessels using 46,905 recorded tracking points r, with many spilling over into areas claimed by the Philippines. In October 2022, 4 Vietnamese fishermen were apprehended by the Philippine Coast Guard in the waters off Pag-Asa; who is to say that these are not “maritime militias” from another claimant who is asserting its own right to many areas also claimed by the Philippines.
Now, let’s look at the post of retired newscaster and now widely-popular FB blogger Jay Sonza who reported at 5 am on the early morning of December 8:
“Good morning.
They are not just coming.
Philippine Defense Chief says they will stay safely in 4 secured camps in Nueva Ecija, Cagayan de Oro, Pampanga and Palawan under a Washington-Manila deal known as EDCA.
Reports have it that they will start looking into the Recto Reef at the West Philippine Seas and the Liguasan Marsh in Central Mindanao.
They will be escorted by soldiers of the Armed forces of the Philippines under the terms of an executive agreement known as VFA.” This photo accompanied the post:

Even if this item may need more verification, Jay Sonza is admittedly a very reliable news source. , His post is a wake-up call that connects many of the ominous things going on in front of our eyes: the additional 5 EDCA bases the US and the AFP being requested by OIC Faustino, the increased belligerence of the Salim group’s PXP and British Forum Energy in pushing its grab of the Recto Bank oil and gas fields, and the confusing mixed signals on the Philippines-China oil and gas deal that PBBM is emitting from his perch.
All these must be taken in the context of the global geopolitical situation. The US war juggernaut seeking new killing fields as the Ukraine War nears the end of its life cycle, probably by mid-2023. Russia is pounding Ukraine into non-existence: as the rivers and mud of the Ukrainian winter turn to solid ice, thus allowing the thousands of tanks and troops their final offensive into the East. The end of Ukraine is drawing near..
The US is preparing the new killing fields, not for the enemy whomever it chooses to be next but for its next ally, as it has already done to Ukraine and Ukrainians to be killed to the last man available. All signs point to the Philippines as the next Ukraine, not Taiwan as the US can find no geopolitical victory there. Let’s take into consideration this new assessment of a US war against China over Taiwan from David P. Goldman, the consummate geopolitical and geoeconomic analyst of Asia Times. –.
On December 6, 2022, Goldman published an article in the Asia Times entitled “Pentagon, Chinese analysts agree US can’t win in Taiwan Strait.” To justify his article’s title, he cited this reason:
“China’s satellite coverage in the Western Pacific has doubled since 2018, the Pentagon reported last week in its annual assessment of the Chinese military. That gives China the ability to detect American surface ships with an array of sensors that can guide its 2,000 land-based missiles to moving targets, including US aircraft carriers.
The Defense Department’s November 29 report ‘Military and Security Developments Involving the People’s Republic of China’ reflects a grimly realistic rethinking of China’s military capacity in its home theater.
China hawk Elbridge Colby, a prominent advocate of a Western Pacific military buildup to deny China access to its adjacent seas, tweeted on November 6, ‘Senior flag officers are saying we’re on a trajectory to get crushed in a war with China, which would likely be the most important war since WWII, God forbid.’”
Since the 2016 Rand Corporation study “War with China: Thinking the Unthinkable”, U.S. and Western literature on the unwinnable war against China in its own backyard has proliferated. In the past month, the results of the Taiwan mid-term local elections have been added, which shocked the West and the U.S. The Kuomintang Party, which favors reunification with mainland China, won 16 seats while the anti-One China DPP won only 5 of 21 mayoral seats.
The DPP defeat, which forced party chief and Taiwan president Tsai Ingwen to resign his party leadership, is already a major blow to the US push to goad Taiwan to declare separation from the mainland to trigger war. And the 2024 elections may pose a further problem: according to my sources from Hong Kong Chinese and Filipino-Chinese sources familiar with Taiwan politics, DPP manipulation may still frustrate the real intent of Taiwanese voters.
According to a cousin, the Kuomintang won this time because , Taiwan corporate leaders, with huge business investments in China, instructed their employees to turn out massively for the Kuomintang. 40% of Taiwan’s exports go to China and there is no doubt that Taiwan’s good fortunes will suffer if there is conflict with mainland China. That was the clear message from the 5-day isolation suffered by Taiwan when China imposed a blockade on it, which was heard loud-and-clear by the Taiwanese.
The U.S. also heard it loud-and-clear and are seemingly looking for another patsy or pawn to replace Taiwan as the bait for the next (ala Ukraine) major tension and war in the region. Apparently, the perfect choice in their minds is the Philippines with its sizeable gang of Amboys in the Department of Foreign Affairs, in the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and in the political and corporate elite who are ready to collaborate with the U.S. to destroy the Philippines for American hegemony.
U.S.-Philippine military exercises are continuing in the flashpoints of the northern Cagayan region that is closest to Taiwan and Palawan that, as indicated by the recent special visit of U.S. Vice-President Kamal Harris to the area, is near the disputed Spratly’s group of islands. IN addition to the 5 EDCA American bases already in place, 5 more bases are being requested by the U.S. and now being considered by the Philippine AFP and government to accelerate U.S. build-up of on-credit military sales deliveries to the Philippines.
What the U.S. is doing makes sense only if one looks at it as preparation to trigger a Ukraine-type war in the region using the Philippines. With growing US military presence and the anti-China tension in Philippine mainstream media, the U.S. – at some opportune time – care create a false flag event similar to its actions i in the 1964 Tonkin Gulf incident that justified the bombing of North Vietnam. The Batongbacal “cry wolf” over “Chinese fishing militia” seems designed for just such an incident. This sums up our exposé of the week’s US-Amboy political, military and propaganda strategies in operation. We hope this helps alert genuine Filipino patriots and independence-loving nationalists, and Mankind-loving Internationalists keep tabs on the continued unfolding of the treacherous US-Amboy conspiracy to create chaos in our Asian neighborhood and abort the rising Asian Moment from its full blossoming into the Asian Century.
