SARA, THE LONE PRO-PEACE CANDIDATE

by Daniel Long

You are deceiving yourselves if you think the United States—whether through its Deep State bureaucrats or its military-industrial complex—has no hand in the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte. She is the only leader in the Philippines actively seeking a peaceful and diplomatic resolution to the West Philippine Sea/South China Sea (WPS/SCS) conflict.

Sara has stated that the territorial dispute between the Philippines and China should not define the totality of their bilateral relations. She has committed to continuing the economic cooperation initiated under her father’s administration, following the model of our neighboring countries. This, naturally, worries the Americans—especially with her independent foreign policy and given that she is virtually assured the presidency in 2028, based on surveys showing her high approval ratings and strong public preference to lead the next administration.

The Social Weather Stations (SWS) surveys claiming her ratings are low or that the majority supports her impeachment were commissioned by Stratbase ADR Institute, a known pro-U.S. think tank. It is owned by oligarch Manuel Pangilinan, who also owns Meralco, Maynilad, MRT, and other key infrastructure companies. He also happens to sit on the board of the U.S.-Philippines Friendship Society.

Media outlets like Rappler, VERA Files, and the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ), which constantly demonize her, are funded in the millions by the National Endowment for Democracy—whose founder once described it as the “new CIA”—and is itself funded by the U.S. government. These outlets are also partnered with USAID through Internews.

On June 17, 2023, Sara announced her opposition to the U.S. plan to temporarily process the visas of 50,000 Afghan refugees in the Philippines, citing national security concerns. A month later, VERA Files reported that her name was included in the ICC case, the charge being “secondary respondent”. She was accused of being aware of the killings of the alleged Davao Death Squad when she was Mayor. By September, the black propaganda surrounding her confidential funds began.

The U.S. has never abandoned its “Pivot to Asia” foreign policy, which involves shifting naval assets to Asia in order to contain the peaceful rise of China and block its emergence as the primus inter pares of the region. The U.S. Congress has allocated billions under the “America COMPETES Act” to spread anti-China propaganda globally.

Meanwhile, the American economy is weakening due to the declining value of the dollar and the backlash from its own tariffs. China is now the world’s leading manufacturing superpower. Unsurprisingly, subversive elements within the American government appear to be pushing for war to prop up the profits of the military-industrial complex.

The Philippines is currently the only ASEAN country hosting the U.S.’s nuclear-capable Typhon Missile System and military bases under the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA)—all rent-free, despite potential violations of our Constitution.

If Sara Duterte becomes President, she will likely pursue a mature negotiation with China to jointly manage and share resources in the WPS/SCS, instead of taking the path toward conflict. It is imperative that she survives the impeachment trial, NBI cases, and the ICC allegations. She is, quite literally, the last hope for this Republic and these islands. We must protect her and ask God to save the nation!

One response to “SARA, THE LONE PRO-PEACE CANDIDATE”

  1. Just as we suspected all along about US and its sinister plans against VP Sara, but will not prosper with God’s help and the efforts of the Filipino people like you and millions of others. Thanks and God bless.
