Neutrality stokes war, Peace Partisanship Imperative

The combined โ€œDeep Stateโ€ of the United States, Britain and its โ€œalliesโ€ are pushing the irredeemable destruction of European, particularly German, relations with Russia, using every means of war and cynically and unforgivably, resurrecting Western European memories of WWII Nazi anti-Slavic racism to bait Russiaโ€™s rage.

The Russian people are convinced the โ€œcollective Westโ€ is out to permanently destroy Russia as a nation state to conquer, capture and appropriate the vast natural wealth of Russia for its own benefit and use.  The goal of the United States is eventually to maintain its global hegemony by finishing of Russia and later China, the two obstacles to its White Western supremacist dream.

The Russian people may not have been unanimous in supporting the โ€œSpecial Military Operationโ€ at the beginning of the Ukraine operation in February 2022, but the Russian population is now backing the โ€œwarโ€ against the โ€œcollective West.โ€ As Russian FM Lavrov said on December 29, 2022 and German FM Annalena Baerbock echoed January 25, 2023 “We are fighting a war against Russia…”

So the unspeakable is now out in the open: the West is in a war against Russia with the Ukrainian people being pushed in front as cannon fodder for the West. Ukrainians are meant to exhaust Russia before the final Western offensive will be launched to annihilate Russians from the face of this earth. This has primed Russia for an all-out final war against the Western White Supremacists.

Russia is not going to lose at any cost: in the end , it may even accept its own self-destruction in a final act of defiance just to see the West incinerated. This is where things stand now in that corner of the world while the rest of the global community watch quietly – rooting for Russia while preparing for a  World without the White Supremacists who dominate through such projects as the BRICS plus.

But even the โ€œrest of the worldโ€ will not be left in peace by the Western White Supremacist. At this very moment, a group of 18 House Republicans has introduced a new resolution in the U.S. Congress, calling for Washington to resume diplomatic ties and recognize Taiwan as a sovereign, independent state โ€“ a deliberate push to overstep Chinaโ€™s red line.

At the same time, US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, ala Nancy Pelosi, is waving his plan to visit Taiwan in front of the U.S. and global media,  , even as some reports claim that โ€œThe Pentagon is preparing for the trip regarding security logistics and a likely response from China…โ€, thus creating another provocation that could end up in an accidental encounter and light a conflagration.

That conflagration may be exactly what the U.S. wants to see in Asia, not after the consummation of conflict going on today in the European theater but simultaneous with it. It has long been theorized that the U.S.-British- European combine (yes, I know I am expanding it โ€“ to be more accurate) under the control of the U.S. would seek global war in the hope that the U.S. could extinguish its gargantuan debt to the world through such a global war โ€“ whether it wins or loses.

And even, if in the process, it  extinguishes the whole world, and themselves. To them, that  will not be worse than having the Deep States architects face the music, i.e. a world war crimes tribunal and a life sentence in prison or execution by hanging in the same fashion as the war criminals they executed after the Second World War.

We all can see how desperate are the powers-that-be in the U.S. are over its unstoppable bloating debt; but there is no way out. The current anti-inflation crusade of the U.S. Fed is bound to fail as the world is primed for another rise in commodities prices with China re-opening its economy and its industries churning out more goods for the world, while its consumption of raw materials – from oil to ores – rise exponentially to meet the global demand for its products. Every expert in the U.S. is expecting a Recession with the capital R.

In the midst of the daunting Western and Eastern war, threats of war, and geopolitical crises, some political leaders choose to declare neutrality, as did President Bongbong Marcos in Davos,  committing to โ€œpeaceโ€ by saying that:

“We are watching as bystanders. If something goes wrong here, we are going to suffer. And that’s why — when asked what is your foreign policy and how would you describe it, I say, it’s a commitment to peace and a very — very, very close and guided very, very closely by our national interest as I mentioned before…โ€

โ€œBystander,โ€ my eye. First of all, there is a wrong notion in many peopleโ€™s minds that โ€œneutralityโ€ means, as the Oxford dictionary puts it, โ€œthe state of not supporting or helping either side in a conflict..โ€ The real two sides in such a conflict are not the protagonists in the conflict but rather, between the conflict and its opposite, that is, between the war protagonists an those working to stop the war or the potential of war.

Being neutral or being a โ€œbystanderโ€ between two conflicting sides is allowing the conflict to fester, persist and/or expand that  will eventually spare no one, especially in todayโ€™s crisis where major conflicting parties are nuclear powers. The other side is the one who is partisan on the side of peace โ€“ the one actively engaged in peacemaking to neutralize the war-making of one or both sides to the conflict.

Every Filipino now realizes that the military conflict between the U.S. and China will spare no country in the region. However, it is the Philippines that will suffer the most severe repercussions of such a conflict between the two major military superpowers of the world. How can โ€œneutralityโ€ – not taking the side of either one-  solve the problem of war erupting between the two and that will harm irreparably, and perhaps even existentially, the Philippines and its people of 110-million?

No – neutrality or โ€œbystandingโ€ is not going to save the Philippines, especially not a sham neutrality where official foreign policy is contradicted by such facts on the ground that the Philippines actually harbors the military forces, equipment and war materiel of one side. The U.S. already has 6 military โ€œforwardโ€ bases inside the Philippines with 5 more on the way. And there are numerous annual military โ€œlive fireโ€ and other drills in Philippines sites that leave no doubt that China is the target, including the northern Cagayan Valley facing Taiwan and Western Palawan facing the Spratlys.

Right now, if the Marcos, Jr. administration is to project a real, consistent policy that reflects the countryโ€™s true national interest to keep it safe from harm and promote peace and prosperity, the Philippines has to start taking a partisan approach to the imminent clash of the titans in the immediate vicinity Philippines. It must adopt a partisanship for peace against the promotion of tension for war and against war itself. The Philippines must declare itself against war and all acts that promote war in areas under its jurisdiction and where it has influence under ASEAN and the United Nations.

The Philippines must become an activist state and a country for peace and against war. It must take steps to halt all activities that promote tension and war within its land and sea territory, its immediate areas of responsibility. It must reject the Mutual Defense Treaty and the VFA (Visiting Forces Agreement) and the EDCA (Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement) that is anchored on it. It must end all military drills of the U.S. with Philippines defense forces, and demand an end to the unfettered โ€œFreedom of Navigationโ€ of warships within its archipelagic waters and in the South China Sea. To end this piece, here are some wise words from two eminent human beings. The first is from Albert Einstein: โ€œThe World will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch the without doing anything.โ€ The second is from Elie Weasel, โ€œWhat hurts the victim most is not the cruelty of the oppressor, but the silence of the bystander.โ€ The fate of Ukraine will also come to visit the Philippines if its leaders continue to sit on the fence and just watch as the external oppressor continues its wanton provocations.
