US ‘playbook’ losing credibility among Pinoys

By Herman Tiu Laurel

THE attempt to eliminate Vice President Sara Duterte as frontrunner in the 2028 presidential elections is part and parcel of the U.S. strategic plan for its proxy war against China and I would like to impress this on our fellow Filipino influencer class.

We need to stop this; let us make no mistake about this, otherwise we will suffer the same consequences as we see in Ukraine today where it may soon not exist as a country as we know it.

America’s hands are visible behind President Bongbong Marcos’ launching of endless provocations against China using our claims on Ayungin, Scarborough and Sabina shoals. The Marcos regime is baiting China to counteract and then propagandizing it as “bullying.”

US proxies in our government baselessly vilified POGOs as a “spy-network,” even concocting the laughable charge that POGOs house thousands of PLA soldiers disguised as POGO workers while at the same time slandering Sara Duterte’s performance.

And eager to impress his American masters, PCG commander Jay Tarriela tries to revive the “China threat” story, rounding up a crew of a Chinese dredging ship contracted by local parties then claiming they wore uniforms “resembling that of the People’s Liberation Army” that he claims raises “concerns” regarding their “intentions” here. Haha!

But after two years of this playbook, the U.S. has eroded its credibility among Filipinos for failing to escort, as they promised, Philippine forays into the three shoals I named above.

As well, they did not use their military bases here for disaster response in assisting Filipinos hit by calamities as they also promised to do.

America’s installing of its Typhoon Missile System here and now pressuring us to “buy” more of them added to Filipinos’ skepticism of US intentions.

Meanwhile, America’s proxy government, the Marcos regime, is massively failing in the eyes of Filipinos due to mounting economic misery, inflation, corruption, and national fragmentation.

Also, BSP chair, Dr. Eli Remolona’s admission that the Peso can hit P60 to the Dollar is an “anomaly.” The Peso traditionally strengthens against the Dollar as Christmas enters due to remittances from our OFWs.

The Peso hitting P60 against the Dollar is a sign of our weak economy and proves that the government’s claim of economic success under PBBM is a lie.

The latest major damage to the US-Marcos regime is the oppressive and unjust persecution of Sara Duterte and her staff at the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education.

Filipinos see this attack on the Vice President as infuriating as it is abusive.

It created a massive backlash of sympathy and disenchantment that the AFP had to issue a statement calling for “calm and resolve” and for everyone to “stand together,” attesting to the public’s agitation that is also being felt in the military’s ranks.

The U.S. strategic plans to destabilize China’s relations with the Philippines, destabilize Asia and ASEAN, is losing steam and momentum as shown by the Filipinos lack of interest in the much- hyped visit of US defense secretary Lloyd Austin last November 18.

Meanwhile, China continues with its positive diplomacy with all nations of the world including the US to which it reiterates its willingness to dialogue on every issue.

In the Philippines, which has a thousand years brotherly history with China, the diplomatic and country-to-country relations pendulum will swing back to friendly and cooperative ties – sooner than the Americans and their Filipino proxies dare to imagine.

One response to “US ‘playbook’ losing credibility among Pinoys”

  1. Overall, Pilipino are DUWAG, with 7 out of 10 kneeling in front of President Trump, whose arms are pointing to help SYRIA; & Pilipino PATRONIZING USA. With Tambaloslos acting as Chief of Staff, while Bangag enjoyed, in a ceremony, accepting a 1700 BC map “ auctioned” in London, recently, of what Philippines looked like — a piece of history suited for the museum. Priorities are wayward. Let Russia gifts us two missiles, one for HOUSE OF CONGRESS, and, the other to MALACANANG, then, MAYBE THEN, PILIPINO WILL WAKE UP, from its slumber since July, 1521.
