The Nationalist Filipinos Against Foreign Intervention (NAT-FIL) expressed its strong opposition to the promotion by the United States of the culture of war in Southeast Asia by propagandizing that there is an imminent threat of invasion of the Philippines by China which is farthest from the truth as China has no reason to use force and violence nor invade and occupy the Philippines.
Although China has actual possession of the islands and islets that It claims to be under its sovereignty and not just mere sovereign rights, China did so without using force nor violence and in accordance with international law in which possession is the strongest proof of ownership or sovereignty. The Philippines failed to occupy the islands and islets that it claims in the West Philippine Sea and this is the fault of the Philippine government and military which just merely allowed years and decades to go by without even attempting to occupy and gain actual possession of the islands and islets that it claims to be under its sovereign rights, not sovereignty, under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) which effectively reduced the claim of the Philippines from the original sovereignty-based claim into a mere sovereign rights claim.
“Let us not kid each other by saying that this has nothing to do with China and will not antagonize China because everybody and his uncle knows that the only reason why Kamala Harris is ‘visiting’ Palawan is to project to the world that China ‘poses an imminent threat to the Philippines and China is planning to invade and occupy the Philippines’ and, hence, the U.S. is sending the message that if this happens, the U.S. will readily come to the defense of the Philippines,” said Dr. Mario Ferdinand Ayano Pasion, Chairman of NAT-FIL.
This only means that the U.S. is planning to push China into a war that China has no intention of having simply because China needs a peaceful and stable Southeast Asia to continue its national development and not exhaust its strength in any war.
This is exactly what the U.S. did in Ukraine in which it supported neo-Nazi groups to massacre the Russian-speaking Ukrainians from 2014 to 2022 which led to the genocide of at least 14,000 Russian-speaking Ukrainians. Naturally, after eight years of genocide perpetrated by Ukrainian neo-Nazis, supported and funded by the U.S., against Russian-speaking Ukrainians, Russia could no longer sit idly by and just allow the situation to continue and, in accordance with U.S. plans, left Russia with no choice but to militarily intervene to stop the deaths of more Russian-speaking Ukrainians. This, coupled with the U.S. dictates on its “51st State” Ukraine to dishonor the Minsk 1 and Minsk 2 agreements, naturally pushed Russia to intervene militarily, in accordance with U.S. plans, so that the U.S. can then blame Russia for “invading” Ukraine “for no reason at all.”
And so, the U.S. wants to repeat this script, this time by pushing China and leaving China with no choice but to use military means to react to the crossing of certain red lines that China has requested the U.S. time and time again not to cross.
This is also being done by the U.S. to arrest the development of the Southeast Asian region which threatens to be a strong competitor of certain U.S. businesses. The U.S. wants tension, division and animosity to prevail between China, on one hand, and the Philippines, the territory of Taiwan and other Southeast Asian countries, on the other hand, so that the latter will not experience development but war, as much as possible, or at the very least sanctions against China so that the fast-growing Southeast Asian region will stop growing and experience decline, just like what the U.S. has done in Western Europe which shot itself in the foot by sanctioning Russian oil, natural gas, wheat, fertilizers, etc. which naturally led to inflation and deterioration of the standard of living of Western Europeans and the de-industrialization of their region. Western Europe which formerly led the world in cheap electricity from safe nuclear power plants and from cheap Russian oil and natural gas, is now back to the stone age – de-industrialized – and using mere firewood again as fuel. Do we want this to happen to Southeast Asia?
And so, NAT-FIL expresses its very, very strong opposition to this dangerous visit by U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris to the Philippines just after the equally-dangerous visit of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan which the U.S. itself recognized as a part of China to comply with the pre-condition set by China before restoring its diplomatic ties with the U.S. in 1978.
As all persons on earth can still remember and can read in history books, the United States recognized the People’s Republic of China as the sole government of China and affirmed that Taiwan is a part of China in 1978. At the same time, the United States ended official relations and its defense treaty with the Nationalist regime on Taiwan. Formal embassies were established in Beijing and Washington the following year.
NAT-FIL is thus calling upon Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. to refrain from acceding to all “requests” of the U.S. which is not going anywhere else but to a war between the U.S. and China with the Philippines being used as a mere proxy by the U.S. – just like Ukraine – in which the U.S. will fight China up to the last Filipino and, at the same time, make the insatiable owners of the private U.S. military-industrial complex richer at the expense of American and Filipino taxpayers.
